Donnafugata received the “The Excellent Italian Wine Brand in China” award for its Ben Ryé 2018 – Passito di Pantelleria Doc during the Wineita 2021 Annual Wine Summit, held last November 30th at the Italian embassy in Beijing.
It is one of the most prestigious awards in the world of Italian wine in China, for the first time in history attributed to a raisin wine.
An award that is the result of the excellence of one of Donnafugata’s iconic wines and the great work that the company has carried out in terms of positioning and communication of the brand on the Chinese market, also thanks to the invaluable support of local partners.
“China is a strategic market for us, with great potential where attention to quality is growing rapidly – comments José Rallo – for these reasons we are honored to have received this prestigious award for our Ben Ryé Passito di Pantelleria Doc.
A raisin wine from Pantelleria, the Ben Ryé, which year after year has consolidated itself as one of the most popular sweet wines all over the world, from the East to the West, a wine capable of conquering the palates of consumers and experts alike: 98 points – Platinum Decanter, 95 Falstaff points, 99 Luca Maroni points, Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso.
These results have been possible thanks to the painstaking care that Donnafugata devotes to its “son of the wind”, the fruit of the heroic viticulture of Pantelleria, the volcanic island that lies between Sicily and Africa.
