…from jazz to Brazilian music , with the voice of José Rallo and the Donnafugata Music & Wine Group

Music and wine for the heart. For the 2005 edition of Vinitaly, the Women of Wine organization, in collaboration with Veronafiere, is organizing a concert/event in memory of Franca Maculan and Marta Galli, two recently and prematurely deceased members.

On stage, a wine woman, José Rallo as vocalist, and her Donnafugata Wine & Music Group, will provide a moment of joy and friendship.

Special guest Prof. Carlo Marcelletti, head of the Pediatric Heart Surgery Unit of the Palermo Civic Hospital and president of the nonprofit ABC organization, which is the beneficiary of the concert.

The event is, in fact, a charity event. Through sales of admission tickets at a symbolic price of 10 euros each, and sales of the Donnafugata Music & Wine Live CD, funds will be collected to finance scholarships to the Mediterranean Graduate School of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery, which will be offered to young doctors from North Africa.

The concert will also serve as the award ceremony for the “L’Enoteca è Donna” competition, in which women wine-shop owners/partners dressed their windows with the Association’s logo. The best three windows will be given prizes.

At the end, refreshments consisting of foods and wines from “Le Donne del Vino” will be served.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, the day Vinitaly opens. It will be staged in the Verdi Auditorium at the Verona Fair.

Sales of admission tickets: until April 6, via internet at www.vinitaly.it or www.ledonnedelvino.com. On April 7, until 6 p.m., at the “Donne del Vino” stand at the fair, Pavilion 6/7, Centro Servizi Arena Box 11; after 6 p.m., directly at the Auditorium entrance.
