Ben Ryé is among Italian wine/food specialties to be presented at Sensofwine USA

 

Marsala, October 8, 2007 – Luca Maroni will be presenting Italian wine/food specialties at the annual convention of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), which will be held on October 12 and 13 in Washington, D.C. Among the specialties, Ben Ryé, selected by Luca Maroni along with the wines of some other prestigious Italian estates, continues to enjoy big successes and receive numerous recognitions.

Ben Ryé constitutes a symbol of corporate innovation, that of Donnafugata on Pantelleria, the island of the sun and wind, impervious yet generous. It is a wine that has secured a position of leadership in the sector of naturally sweet wines, whether in Italy or abroad.

Luca Maroni selected for the occasion some of the most representative winemaking estates in Italy, among them Donnafugata. The estates will offer their products for tasting at the event and at the gala dinner, which will be attended by noted institutional figures like Condoleeza Rice, Hillary Clinton and the mayor of Milan, Letizia Moratti.

In addition to wine, typical Italian culinary products will be presented. They will be selected by Buonitalia, the company that carries out promotions for the Italian agricultural and food-processing system. Also involved in the program are the consortia of Prosciutto San Daniele, Prosciutto di Parma, Mortadella Bologna, Speck, Asiago, Grana Padano and the Italian Pasta-makers Union (UNIPI), represented by Divella, Rummo, Garofalo and Delverde.

The event will be a wine/food experience in which all the senses will be activated. Flavors and aromas that evoke the communities from which they come and of which Donnafugata acts as interpreter will treat its public to intense sensations and rich emotions. To close the eyes and see this fascinating island between Sicily and Africa. To concentrate the mind and listen to the island’s thousands of stories.
