Donnafugata has been producing volcanic wines on Etna and Pantelleria in an incessant manner, thus combining tradition and innovation.
Two extraordinary and fascinating territories from which wines with a volcanic and strongly distinctive character originate. From the aromatic freshness of Pantelleria wines, to the elegant earthiness of Etna wines.
The Moscato di Alessandria albarello bush vines are grown among dry stone walls and on traditional terraces on the island of Pantelleria, an island of volcanic origin in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea. On the island, known for its sun and wind, heroic viticulture makes it possible to produce aromatic wines with a distinct crisp freshness and earthiness, making whoever tastes them fall in love with them.
Donnafugata has chosen the northern slope of Mount Etna to produce its mountain wines. The combination of the mountain climate and its strong temperature fluctuations, and the mineral-rich soils of lava origin help create a complex aromatic bouquet that makes these wines authentic masterpieces of the senses.
