The Istituto Grandi Marchi (IGM) turns 20: a milestone that will be celebrated at the next institutional event to be held in London on June 25th.
The event will see the participation of all 18 producers – among the most important Italian family-owned wineries – who have been associated since 2004 to promote their premium wines; Donnafugata will be represented by Gabriella Favara, the sixth generation of a family that has been able to innovate the style and perception of Sicilian wine in the world.
The iconic red “Mille e una Notte” from the 2004 vintage – the very year in which the Institute was born – will be among the protagonist wines of the masterclass conducted by Patrick Schmitt MW, Master of Wine and editor-in-chief of the prestigious online magazine thedrinksbusiness.com.
At the fascinating “One London Wall” there will also be a walk-around tasting for wine lovers, trade and journalists: Donnafugata will feature the “Sul Vulcano” 2021 white and “Sul Vulcano” 2021 red, both from Etna, and the “Bell’Assai” 2022 Vittoria Doc Frappato, from the Baroque lands, between the Iblean plateau and the sea.
The anniversary of the “Grandi Marchi” will also celebrate the traditional partnership with the Institute of Masters of Wine, who will take part in the gala dinner hosted by the Italian Embassy in London.
