Donnafugata takes part in the fourth edition of the International Volcanic Wines Conference. The event will be held on Tuesday 18 June in New York, in the presence of wine enthusiasts, trade and journalists, with a large walk-around tasting and a packed program of masterclasses.
Antonio Rallo, Donnafugata’s winemaker and fifth generation of this historic wine family, will be the protagonist of the masterclass “From Etna to Pantelleria: volcanic terroir of Sicily and Donnafugata’s experience“. The tasting, which will be conducted together with Master Sommelier John Szabo, will feature Etna white “Sul Vulcano” – the 2021, 2019, and 2016 vintage – the Etna red “Fragore” 2019, cru from Contrada Montelaguardia, and finally the Passito of Pantelleria Ben Ryé 2022.
“We are proud to be part of the Volcanic Wine Conference, joining the Grand Tasting and the special masterclass “From Etna to Pantelleria” – says Antonio Rallo of Donnafugata. “We will feature wines coming from these volcanic territories where grapes with unique personalities are born, capable of transmitting an extraordinary sense of place.”
In New York, at the masterclass and tasting tables, Donnafugata’s volcanic wines will be fully showcased: the wines of Etna which stand out for their elegance, minerality and energy, the true soul of volcanic wines, and those form Pantelleria, an island where viticulture is heroic and represents a true act of love for this land.
